Lougheed Maternity Group (LMG)
We are a group of female and male Family Physicians who are committed to providing high-quality maternity care to women in Calgary, from conception to delivery, as well as through the postpartum period. We are pleased to provide newborn care for the first six weeks of life. In addition to extensive obstetrical training and experience, as Family Physicians we are also trained to manage patients from birth through adulthood. Some of us run our own full-spectrum Family Medicine offices in addition to our obstetrical practices. We are fully committed to helping you in any way we can during this exciting time in your family’s life.
We deliver babies at the Peter Lougheed Centre (PLC).
We feel privileged to be working in Northeast Calgary, amongst women/pregnant persons and families from varying cultural backgrounds. We provide care to all pregnant persons in a kind, compassionate, and culturally sensitive manner. We understand that for many of our patients, this is the first encounter with the Canadian medical system and our team is excited to help you navigate this journey.

Postpartum care
Care of your newborn for the first six weeks
Access to allied health services
On-site Social Work Services and Resource Navigation
On-site Psychologist specializing in Women’s Health
Dietician
Breastfeeding support with referrals to breastfeeding clinics as needed
Management of women living with substance use and addictions in pregnancy with support from community addiction services programs
Language Line Interpretation services, if required
Care coordination back to one’s own Family Physician
Assistance in finding a Family Physician
Referral to Obstetrician specialists or other specialists as required
HOW TO BOOK AN APPOINTMENT
We prefer that your Family Physician fax a referral to the clinic of your choice.
Some of our associate clinics do accept self-referrals. Please refer to our locations page for more information.
Please note that we are a group of female and male physicians. If requested, we are usually able to book clinic appointments with a female physician only. We cannot guarantee a female doctor for delivery.
We are only able to deliver our patients at the Peter Lougheed Hospital. If you would prefer to deliver at a different hospital please ask your Family Physician to refer you to an alternate provider.
